THE JEWELS IN THE CROWN
A diamond in the rough, when they were young and fair
The edges cut and polished from countless hours in prayer
With Jesus as their sculptor, shaping everything
We now see the finished jewels for the crown of the King
Praise the Lord for all the dear old saints
And the gospel path they've trod
For I know that many times they've touched the very heart of God
When they raise their voices to the Lord, they make the heavens ring
Oh, they are the jewels in the crown of the King.
They've weathered many storms of life, by fire they've been tried
But I see the reflection of Jesus in their eyes
The love of God shines from them like a fiery ember's glow
And the later that they get in life, the more the brilliance grows.
Praise the Lord for all the dear old saints
And the gospel path they've trod
For I know that many times they've touched the very heart of God
When they raise their voices to the Lord, they make the heavens ring
Oh, they are the jewels in the crown of the King.
I thank the Lord for blessing us with those precious gems
For their pearls of wisdom have led many souls to Him
And though their bodies fail them, may they joy in victory
And I pray, Dear God, please bless them all
As much as they've blessed me.
